Recovery environment

The recovery environment includes the V460-XPE embedded computer and a bootable USB disk

with the recovery programs and system image file.

Recovery procedures

In this section, we describe the recovery procedure.

Step 1: Format an Empty USB Disk.

a. Format your USB disk with the “HP USB Disk Format Tool,” open the utility, and then select

the device and FAT file system. Note that you only need an empty disk for this task. DO NOT

check the option “Create a DOS startup disk.”

b. Click Start.

NOTE: HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool can be downloaded from many web sites, type “HP

USB Disk Storage Format Tool” to search internet and download it.
